Worth Wait of 11 years...
Hi Friends,
Today is a unique day for me. Though I am a big movie buff but I never watched a movie on its first day release. That too a mass loving Upendra directed movie. Thanks to my friend Nitin for booking advance tickets.
Directly jumping to review, if I write it in a simple way it is just a pakka Upendra movie, starts with a bang, gets more complex till interval, and even more complex after interval and ends up with a simple relevant message. And two and hours no moment of relaxation, you need to keep your eyes and ears alert. In between my friend yelled "I need break" such is the intensity. Super is no different but with a different theme. This time Upendra goes a bit further from the concept of Complex Human Nature which he narrated in his last directed movie "Upendra". He digs deep into showing the psyche of Indian common man and the problems which India is facing currently through a ultra modern Indian girl. He offers solution also and imagines how India would be in 2030. During this journey, he delivers long punching dialogues, fights with goons, changes his hairstyles, and dances in typical UPPI style. Nayantara looks pretty and good, Sadhu Kokila makes his presence felt, supporting cast provides proper assistance but it is Upendra who rocks. Only thing which was missed is Gurukiran, I think he would have added new dimension to the music like the previous Upendra movies.
It is a must watch for Kannada movie buffs. This year I watched three good movies in Kannada - Aptarakshaka, Just Maat Mathalli and this one. As an ending note I would like to say it was a worth wait of 11 years to see a new Upendra directed movie.
"Uppinakai" tumba ruchiyagide, I like it, I like it...

Hmm...worth a watch I guess.
wah! what an entertainment!!chindi..chindi..soopero soopero, uppi sooper, filmu sooperpo..all the Kannada kaantas must watch again..BTW, nice and punching write-up, Chetan..damn-good work!! Cheers!!
